tenance of the portion of such platform allotted for British use and of the sidings provided for British trains.

8.

Local passenger trains will be run on each section from and to Sham Chun Station in accordance with time schedules arranged as far as possible by each Section to facilitate the interchange pr passenger traffic at Sham Chun Station.

9. In addition to the through tickets for the through express trains through tickets shall be issued for passengers of all classes and nationalities from each Station on each Section to sach Station on the other Section: the fares to be chagged for such tickete shall not in any case exceed the sum of the ordin- ary fare from the Station of departure to Sham Chun Station and the ordinary fare from the Station of arrival to Sham Chun Sta- tion and vice versa and shall be uniform for passengers of every nationality and race: holders of such tickets will change

trains at Sham Chun Station.

No discrimination will be allowed on either Section between passengers holding through tickets from any Station on one Sec- tion to any Station on the other and passengers commencing their journey at Sham Chun Station: but all passengers shall be accom- modated and treated on a footing of equality in the respective classes for which they hold tickets.

Each Section will grant as far as possible the like facili- ties for the interchange of houses, dogs and chairs and vehicles

as for passengers.

Goods Traffic

The expression "Goods" means Coal, Minerals,Materials and Merchandize exclusive of passengers' baggage, Maila and parcels, also Animals (except horses and dogs) and "Goods traffic" means the carriage of the same by railway.

15.

Through goods traine shall be run between Canton and Hongkong, stopping only at Sheklung and ShamChun and at such other pentres as may justify the stoppage, whenever sufficient traffic offers: the waggons for such trains shall be supplied by the two Sections in the proportion of four (4).
